Why Visit Xi'an with PandaBro?

Xi'an isn't just another Chinese city — it's the cradle of Chinese civilization. As the capital of 13 dynasties and the eastern starting point of the Silk Road, Xi'an holds over 3,000 years of history waiting to be discovered. Our local guides bring this ancient capital to life, taking you beyond the typical tourist stops to hidden corners most visitors never see.

Xi'an is China's most underrated destination. While Beijing and Shanghai get the headlines, Xi'an offers the most authentic "ancient China" experience with world-class attractions and far fewer crowds.

The Terracotta Army — An Eighth Wonder

No trip to Xi'an is complete without seeing the Terracotta Warriors. But timing matters — our guides know the best strategies to avoid the mid-day tour bus crowds. Visit in the early morning when the museum first opens, and you'll have these 8,000 life-sized soldiers almost to yourself. Our guides explain the incredible story of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the farmers who discovered the army in 1974, and why no two faces are alike.

Cycle the Ancient City Wall

Xi'an is one of the few cities in China where the ancient walls remain completely intact. The 14km wall dates back to the Ming Dynasty and offers the best vantage point over the city. Rent a bicycle and cycle the full circumference — a 90-minute ride with stunning views of both the ancient city center and modern Xi'an beyond.

Must-See Xi'an Attractions

  • Muslim Quarter — A vibrant maze of narrow streets filled with street food stalls, mosques, and local crafts. Try yangrou paomo (mutton soup with bread), roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), and fresh pomegranate juice.
  • Big Wild Goose Pagoda — A stunning 7th-century Buddhist pagoda surrounded by beautiful gardens and the spectacular Fountain Square.
  • Shaanxi History Museum — One of China's best museums with over 370,000 artifacts spanning 1 million years.
  • Great Mosque of Xi'an — A unique blend of Chinese and Islamic architecture dating back to the Tang Dynasty.
  • Huashan Mountain — One of China's Five Great Mountains, famous for its plank walks and stunning sunrise views. A day trip from Xi'an.

Best Time to Visit Xi'an

Spring (April–May) and Autumn (September–October) offer the most pleasant weather. March is particularly beautiful with plum blossoms. Summer is hot but the attractions are air-conditioned. Winter is cold but you'll have the Terracotta Warriors practically to yourself.
